SeekOut integrates with your HeyMarket account, allowing you to export candidate information from SeekOut and turn it into HeyMarket candidate profiles complete with contact information and work/education history. Candidate data can be sent to HeyMarket as prospects or attached to an existing job.

SeekOut integrates with your HeyMarket account, allowing you to export candidate information from SeekOut and turn it into HeyMarket candidate profiles complete with contact information and work/education history. Candidate data can be sent to HeyMarket as prospects or attached to an existing job.
This article covers how to set up your integration, as well as how to export candidate info from SeekOut to HeyMarket.
Before You Begin
Contact HeyMarket support and tell them you want to integrate with SeekOut. Ask HeyMarket to provide you with an API Key. Save this key to a safe place; you'll enter it into SeekOut later.
Required: Set up a Source Tag
You must create a tag in HeyMarket that labels SeekOut as a source. To do this, go to your HeyMarket Administration page and visit the Tags tab.
Click Create Tag and enter "SeekOut" as the name of your first tag. This tag will be used to track SeekOut as the source for all candidate exports and is required for candidate data to export correctly. Click Create and ensure the tag name is now populated in your Tags list on the same page.
Optional: Set up Additional Tags
SeekOut provides users the ability to place tags on a candidate profile. If you don't use these tags, then you don't have to create any other tags in HeyMarket.
If you do use tags in SeekOut, you must create a matching tag in Heymarket. Tag names are case-sensitive and must match exactly. For example, if you use a tag in SeekOut called "InMail Sent" then you must create a tag in HeyMarket also named "InMail Sent".
Note: Your SeekOut team administrator can view all tags in your organization by clicking their name at the bottom left of the dashboard, selecting Team Administration, and then clicking the Org Settings tab.
Continue to create tags in HeyMarket until your list is populated with all the tags you will use in SeekOut. Before moving on to the next step, please double check your tag names in SeekOut exactly match the tag names in HeyMarket.
Setting up the HeyMarket Integration
Accessing Integrations
Click your name at the bottom left of the SeekOut dashboard, then select Integrations.
Note: Don't see the Integrations option in your menu? Contact your Customer Success Manager or support@seekout.com and ask to enable ATS integrations for your org.
On the Integrations page, click + Add a Connection to open the list of applicant tracking systems. If you've set up an integration with SeekOut before, your current integrations will be listed on this page. Click the plus sign + at the top of the page to open the ATS list.
Connecting to HeyMarket
Locate HeyMarket from the list of integrations and click the Connect button.
On the Capabilities tab, check the box next to Export. Click Confirm Choices to continue to the next step.
On the Credentials tab, enter the API key you received from HeyMarket in the accessToken field.
Click Submit to save your credentials, then click Next.
SeekOut will automatically attempt to verify your connection by exporting a test candidate as a prospect or to a job in the populated jobs list. Choose either Export as Prospect or a job from the jobs list and click Verify. When the ‘All Good’ message appears, click Finish and ensure the test candidate has been successfully added to your ATS.
When successful, HeyMarket will appear at the top of your Integrations page with a green check mark.
Removing the Integration
On the Integrations page, click the arrow next to a connected integration to Edit or Remove the integration from your SeekOut account.
Exporting to HeyMarket
Note: It's strongly recommended to retrieve a candidate's phone number before exporting. Your ATS will be unable to match duplicate candidates unless they have a number associated with their profile.
Use the Get Phone button on a profile to obtain their contact info before exporting.
Recommended: Export from a project
To export all candidates in a project to HeyMarket, go to your SeekOut project, click the Export icon and choose Export All to HeyMarket. Contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers will only appear in your export if you click Get Email for All and Get Phone for All before exporting.
Alternatively, you can export select candidates from SeekOut by clicking the box next to their profile, clicking Export and then selecting Export X to HeyMarket. With both methods, clicking Export to HeyMarket will cause a pop-up window will appear.
You can select a job from the dropdown menu or export the candidates as prospects. If your ATS does not support candidate profiles without email addresses, check the box Generate dummy email addresses for candidates. Click the Export button to export candidates to HeyMarket. If successful, you will see a confirmation pop-up message that says "Export Complete."
Additional Notes
Duplicate Profiles
By default, SeekOut will not transmit profiles that have already been successfully exported. Candidates that have been exported will display a confirmation icon and the name of your ATS in their SeekOut profile.
Check the box Include previously exported candidate(s) if you're exporting the same candidates to your ATS again.
Note: HeyMarket does not check for duplicate records. SeekOut will try to update existing contacts with the same phone number in HeyMarket. This update will only occur if you have retrieved the candidate's phone number in SeekOut and the number matches the candidate record in HeyMarket. If no candidate is found, the export will fail.

What do dummy emails look like?
When you check the box "Generate dummy email addresses" before exporting to your ATS, then SeekOut will create email addresses and send them along with each candidate who doesn't already have an email associated with their SeekOut profile.
The email addresses generated by SeekOut will look similar to these examples:
