What is the Outreach Sequence Library?
The Outreach Sequence Library is your personal collection of Outreach Sequences that you can access for future use. You can reuse successful Outreach campaigns instead of creating them from scratch by saving them to your Sequence Library.
How do I save an Outreach Sequence to the Library?
After creating a sequence in the Outreach editor, click Sequence Library on the bottom left.
Click on Save to Library.
Give it a name that helps you find it later (e.g., “Engineering Outreach - Passive Candidates”). Name your sequences clearly (e.g., by role, target audience) so they can be easily found when you search for them.
Click Save. Your sequence is ready to use for future campaigns.
How do I use an Outreach Sequence from the Library?
When creating a new Outreach sequence, click Sequence Library.
Browse your saved sequences or search by name.
Click Select to load it into your editor.
To edit any part of the sequence, click on the pencil icon in the top corner. Your Outreach editor will then open.
What’s the difference between the Outreach Sequence Library and a Template?
Your Outreach Sequence Library stores sequences, which are comprised of a series of outreach messages for a single campaign. For example: Email 1 → Wait 2 days → Email 2, etc.
When to use your Outreach Sequence Library: You want to reuse a multi-step outreach flow that you've previously created.
Templates are used to write a single email. They’re perfect for quick messages or if you want to reuse a well-written message in a Sequence. You can use an email template in any single step in a sequence or when sending an individual email to a candidate.
When to use Templates: Writing quick messages or to populate a step in an Outreach sequence.
Accessing email templates and using them in Outreach Sequences
There are a few ways you can access templates.
Location 1: From your Outreach Sequence Library
To add an email template you've created into a Sequence from your Sequence Library:
Select the sequence you'd like to use
Click on the pencil icon in the top right. This will open your Outreach editor.
Click on Add a step to insert a template into a new step or click on an existing step to replace the text with the template.
Select the Email templates icon (to the right of the paperclip) in the body editor formatting options.
Search or browse your saved email templates.
Select the Template and click on Use this template
Location 2: In your message window
While writing a step inside your sequence, select the Email templates icon (to the right of the paperclip) in the body editor formatting options.
Search or browse your saved email templates.
Click on the Template.
Select the Template and click on Use this template.
Note: If you created a template directly from the Message tool in a candidate search, those templates will be accessible directly from the Outreach editor window as described in Locations 1 and 2 above.
Another place to modify Templates or Sequences
If you'd like quick access to modify a template or a Sequence:
Go to Outreach settings in the top right of the Outreach tab view.
Navigate to the bottom of the pop-up window and click Global Outreach Settings
Click Emails to access your Templates or click on Sequences to access your Sequence Library
Note: If choosing Emails, you'll only be able to edit a Template. You can't add add Templates to a Sequence Library from this location. Choose Sequences and follow the steps from Location 1 above to add a Template.
Outreach Sequence Sharing with your teammates
You can share your saved Outreach Sequences directly with your teammates in one of two ways.
1. When creating a new Outreach Sequence from scratch:
Click on the Create Sequence button from your Outreach tab and select Create new from scratch
Create your Sequence
When you’re ready to save the Sequence, navigate to the bottom left corner and click on Sequence library and select Save to...
Give you Sequence a name
Select the drop-down menu underneath that says Private.
All your Sequences when saved will be Private by default.
If you’d like to share the Sequence with your entire team, click on the drop down menu and select Share with organization.
2. Sharing an existing private Outreach Sequence
Select the Sequence you’d like to share
Select the drop-down menu that says Private to the right of the Sequence name
Select Share with organization
You’ll also see various icons assigned to the Outreach Sequences you’ve saved. They’ll allow you to quickly identify how your Sequences have been shared between you and your teammates.
