Career Compass - My Team

My Team is a dedicated hub only visible to people managers to help you better understand each employee that you manage – and your team as a whole.

Note This feature is only available to People Managers.

My Team is a dedicated hub to help you better understand each employee that you manage – and your team as a whole. It provides a view of each employee’s professional experience, current development goals, and aspirations. My Team suggests development opportunities for each employee so that you can have meaningful and ongoing conversations about their career development.

Note: Each company has unique configurations. This article covers the capabilities within Career Compass regardless of whether your organization is using them or not.

Click on a person's name to see more information about that employee. Each employee's info is collected into several tabs.

Skills

View the team member's skills within Career Compass. For more information on how a team member is recommended and assigns themselves skills, see the article My Profile - Skills.

Career Interests

Within the Career Interests tab, managers will see the employee's goals, career aspirations, work type preferences, and more. See the article Career Compass - Profile - Career Interests for more on how an employee adds their Career Interests. You can use these insights to guide career development discussions with your employees.

Experience

View the team member's work experience, education, and certifications. See the article Career Compass - Profile - Experience for more information on how an employee can view or change their experience within Career Compass.

Learning

The Learning tab recommends learning content cards that may benefit your employees, as well as any content that you've already suggested for your team member.

Suggesting Learning Content

As a manager you can suggest learning content for your employees. Click Suggest on any learning content card to open the suggestion form.

Suggestions are sent to your team members along with a message. You can preview and make changes to the message at the top of the suggestion form. Check the box next to a team member to suggest the content for them, or check Everyone on my team to select all of your team members. Click Suggest at the bottom right of the form to send the suggested content to your team members.

Tracking Suggested Content

You can see which content you've suggested to your team member at the top of their Learning tab within My Team. Click View more at the top right of the Learning tab to show all of the learning content cards you've suggested to the team member. Suggestions you've made recently will be at the top of the list of cards.

Content that the team member finished will be marked with a "Completed" tag, and content that the team member has started but not finished will be marked with an "In progress" tag.

Notifications

When a team member starts or finishes a piece of learning content, you'll see a notification in the My Direct Reports table on the main page of the My Team tab.

You will also receive a weekly summary email on Monday that includes any activity from your team members within Career Compass, including updates to their skills & career interests or starting & completing suggested learning content.

Career Paths

View the team member's Career Path within Career Compass. See the article Career Paths for information on how an employee views and uses their Career Path.

Profile

View your employees' Career Compass profiles under the Profile tab. If your employees have added additional information such as prior work experience or education, you will see that on their profile. Use the information on this page to better understand their background and capabilities in the context of career development conversations.
