Why use AI Matching?

We’ve seen that even the most knowledgable technical recruiters can run into challenges creating the perfect Boolean search. AI Matching lets you focus on the requirements for a role instead of crafting your own specific search strings.

How to use AI Matching

Step 1. Create the project

Select AI Matching from the left navigation menu to open the AI Matching page.

Enter the name of the company you're sourcing for and the job title. Enter one or more locations for the search, or leave it blank. A project name will be generated for you. Click Next to proceed to the next step.

Step 2. Define your requirements

Select job titles, required & optional skills, and other appropriate filters for your candidates. Click the plus sign next to a term to add it to your requirements, or click the empty space in the text field to search for a term.

If you already have a job description, click Paste Job Description at the top of the page and insert your job description into the pop-up box that appears. SeekOut will use the information you enter to offer more relevant term suggestions.

Required Filters:

  • Job Title: What job title does your ideal candidate have now? Enter at least three, or as many as possible. Include variations of job titles that cover a range of experience.

  • Required Skills: Enter 1-3 of the most important skills for this role. Optionally, click

Add List or Boolean to add a list of skills or use advanced Boolean. See the articles Boolean and Field-Based Search and Advanced Boolean search with SeekOut for more information on Boolean.

  • Optional Skills: Enter optional or 'nice-to-have' skills here. You can add as many as you like.

  • Years of Experience: Use the slider to select a minimum and maximum limit to years of experience. The default is Any.

Click Select More Filters to add or remove other filters for your AI Matching project. When you're finished selecting your terms, click Next.

Step 3. Accept & Reject Candidates

AI Matching will return the first set of candidates that closely meet your requirements. You can choose to accept or reject candidates: click Add to project to add the candidate to your project, and click Not a fit to reject the candidate and select a reason for your rejection.

SeekOut uses your rejection reasons to adjust AI Matching for your current project. For example, if you reject a candidate because of their title, AI Matching will not display candidates with that title when you look for more candidates within this project.

Step 4. Get More Candidates

To continue looking for candidates, click Get More Matches. A pop-up window will appear.

Use the dropdown to select how many additional candidates you want to find. Optionally, check the box I don't need to review the candidates... to automatically add new candidates to your project without manually accepting them. Click OK and AI Matching will find more candidates for you to review.

Repeat the process of accepting and rejecting candidates until you have as many in your project as you need.

Change your filters at any time by clicking Change under the Key Characteristics section to the left of the candidate list.

What is the Matching Score?

When using AI Matching, every profile has an AI Matching Score located under the Accept/Reject buttons. The higher their score, the closer the candidate is to matching all of your requirements.

A Matching Score of 99% means we didn't need to relax any criteria.
